Vacuum Brewing 101 

It’s composed form four basic parts:

  • Bottom container
  • Top container
  • Siphon tube
  • Filter

The siphon tube is a connection the bottom and top containers and the filter allows liquid and gas to pass and at the same time keep the coffee to the ground of cup. 

There are a few things that you’ll need:

  • Coffee
  • Grinder
  • A burner
  • Thermometer 

How Does Syphon Coffee Brewer work?

You add the water to the bottom container, which is heated. That heated water will create a vapor making its way to the top container, through the filter.

When heat is removed, it will make its’ way back to bottom again through the filter, letting behind you grind-free coffee.

6 steps to Make Your Own Vacuum-Brewed Coffee:

Step 1

In the bottom, container add water and put heater underneath while turning the heat on high.

Step 2

There is a funnel attached to the top container, insert it after the water boils.

Step 3

You add your ground coffee after the vapor starts to rise out the bottom container.

You can use a thermometer to watch for 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 4

It’s time to stir.

Step 5

Remove the heat after a minute or less.

Step 6

Enjoy your coffee.

As you removed the heat, the process of suctioning occurs and the bottom container sucks back the water, that’s now your coffee.

Between them, like a barrier is a filter not allowing the grounds to go through.

To improve your Syphon coffee brewing technique, follow these 4 steps:

  1. Always use the ratio of 3 tablespoons of coffee per 2 cup siphon
  2. You should rinse your top container every time before you use it
  3. Wait about 45 seconds to 1 minute before removing the heat, in that period of time gas and bubble will leave the grounds.
  4. Give a good stir, as the grounds start to suction through the funnel.
