In this article, we’re going to be comparing two of the ‘next generation’ blenders by Vitamix: the 7500 and the 750. Like most newer blenders, the two share certain features with the Vitamix’s flagship 5200 model while also including some much-needed improvements.

On the surface, the Vitamix 7500 and 750 may look identical. However, there are enough differences to set them apart and appeal to different people.

Vitamix 7500 vs 750

The Similarities and Differences

If you’re in a hurry, here’s a short summary of how the two blenders work. This should give you a fairly good idea of the pros and cons of each, and help you decide which model you should get:

Vitamix 7500

The Pros

  • It’s 10% more powerful more than some of the older Vitamix models, including the C-series 5200
  • It comes with both the variable speed dial and the pulse feature, making it a very versatile blender
  • It’s 40% quieter than the older Vitamix models
  • The 64 Oz pitchers allow you to blend two or more servings at once
  • It’s cheaper than the Vitamix 750.

The Cons

  • At $530 brand new, it’s pretty expensive for a blender
  • It doesn’t have blending presets.

Vitamix 750

The Pros

  • It has everything the Vitamix 7500 offers
  • It comes with 5 presets for hands-free blending.

The Cons

  • It’s about $70 more than the Vitamix 7500.

Vitamix 750 vs 7500 – The Similarities

  • Both blenders have variable speed dial, allowing you to select speeds from 1 to 10. This should allow you to get any blend consistency and texture that you like
  • Both blenders have a pulse feature, which can be used to produce a chunky consistency
  • Both blenders have a motor that’s capable of peak 2.2 horsepower
  • Both blenders have motor housing that dampens noise output
  • Both blenders have 64 Oz pitchers
  • Both blenders come with a warranty of up to 7 years.

Vitamix 7500 vs 750 – The Differences

  • The Vitamix 750 is a bit pricier than the 7500
  • The pitcher of Vitamix 750 is just a quarter of an inch taller (even though they’re both roughly 64 Oz containers)
  • The Vitamix 750 has blending presets while the 7500 does not.

As you can see the two blenders are in fact identical save for a few differences. In the following section, we will analyze these differences more closely.

The Features

Here we take a closer look at the features of each blender. At the end of this section, you’ll have a much better idea of which of the two blenders suit you best.

The Motor

As mentioned in the previous section, both the Vitamix 750 and the 7500 have the same motor. They are both capable of peak 2.2 horsepower (which is 0.2 higher than the flagship 5200) and even have the same noise-dampening housing that allows 40% reduction when compared to older models like the flagship 5200, whose noise level registered at around 98 DB.

Hence, essentially, the performance of both the Vitamix 750 and the Vitamix 7500 is the same.

The Controls

The interfaces of the two blenders are very similar. Here’s what you’ll find on both the Vitamix 750 and the 7500:

  • Start/Stop Switch – which of course causes the blades to start and stop running.
  • Pulse switch – this is a handy feature for anyone who makes salsa often. Once this switch is activated, the blades switch to more of a chopping motion than a blending one. The result is that you get a much chunkier consistency than you would while just using the variable speed dial.
  • Variable speed dial – this allows you to select from speeds that range from 1 to 10, with the latter being the fastest. This, in combination with the pulse feature, allows the user to achieve just about any blend consistency.

However, there is one big difference between the controls of the two blenders. That is, the Vitamix 750 also offers 5 presets for you to choose from, which are:

  • Smoothie – this optimizes the blending process so you get a silky smooth consistency that is characteristic of any great smoothie. A timer is set for 45 seconds, after which the blending stops automatically.
  • Puree – If you often make spreads and dips, this preset will definitely come in handy. Once selected, the process lasts for about a minute or so.
  • Soup – not only does this give you the consistency of soup but the resultant friction from the blades running for about five and a half minutes causes it to warm up as well. This way it’s ready to be eaten straight away.
  • Frozen desserts – if you’re making ice creams or sorbets then this is the setting you would choose. This preset causes the blender to run for almost a minute.
  • Self-clean – fill the pitcher with water, add a drop of dish cleaner and then select this preset. That’s all there is to cleaning the Vitamix 750!

Price

Unsurprisingly, the Vitamix 750 is more expensive than the 7500. The former is priced at almost $600 brand new and the latter is $530 in comparison.

The Pitchers

Both the Vitamix 7500 and the 750 have 64 Oz pitchers, even though the latter is just a quarter of an inch taller according to the spec sheet. When compared to the narrow pitchers that came with the older Vitamix models, this allows the housing of larger blades, thereby increasing the cutting area for more even blends.

The Cookbooks

Both blenders come with their own cookbooks when you buy them brand new. The Vitamix 7500 comes with the ‘getting started’ cookbook and the 750 comes with the larger, more professional ‘Create’ cookbook.

Past Quality Issues

Back in August 2013, Vitamix issued a recall for the 7500, 750 and 300 model blenders. They did this following several cases of the mixing blades coming loose in the models. However, you won’t find such an issue in the models produced post-2013. Even if you did, Vitamix will get yours replaced straight away.

Customer Reviews on Amazon

Both the Vitamix 7500 and 750 have received largely positive feedback on Amazon. Here’s a brief summary of what customers on Amazon say about each blender:

Vitamix 7500

The Vitamix 7500 has 545 reviews and an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon. What’s even more impressive is that 441 (81%) of those reviews give the blender a perfect score! Customers particularly love how powerful the 7500 is, as well as the durability, the low-profile container and how easy it is to clean.

The main reason for the 1 and 2-star reviews seem to be customers receiving defective units from the manufacturer. In addition, a few customers have complained about black specks in their food.

Vitamix 750

The Vitamix 750 has received 355 reviews on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. 83% percent of those reviews gave the blender 5 stars. According to the reviews, customers rate ease of use and cleanliness, durability and blending performance quite highly! As a whole, the noise level has been rated as above average.

Similar to the 7500’s reviews, most of the 1 and 2-star reviews appear to be from customers who have received faulty machines. A few complained about the noise levels and the rattling of the blender.

Our Verdict on Vitamix 7500 vs 750

As you can see, these two blenders are identical for the most part, save for two important differences: the price and the presence of blending presets.

Overall, we believe that the Vitamix 750 is the better blender of the two. This is because of the immense convenience that five blending presets afford the user. We think the almost $70 price difference is justified in that regard.

In Conclusion…Which One Should You Buy?

If you’re looking for a powerful, high-end blender, then either of these two options will satisfy. If you don’t particularly need the presets, then we recommend that you save some money and snag the Vitamix 7500. It’s got enough power to blend anything you throw at it and it’ll last for many years to come.

If, on the other hand, you’re a busy person, then those preset could be huge time savers. Having the option to just dump the ingredients, press a button and walk away to do something else is simply delightful. Even your kids will be able to make their own snacks without pestering you all the time!

It’s also one less thing to worry about when you’re cooking a varied meal. You don’t have to stand over the blender until it’s time to press ‘stop’.
