The Keurig K-Supreme Plus is a more customized version of the K-Supreme that not only brings your coffee experience up to a new standard but also boasts other features such as digital display, temperature control, and preset option buttons.

Once you order either of the products, you’ll also get a water filter and a filter stand to hold it.

While both models are masterpieces in terms of taste, I found the second one more comfortable, durable, and overall, a better bet.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Single-Serve K-Cup Brewer

Given their simplicity and promptness, K-Cup coffee makers are favorites among busy bees and novice coffee drinkers. However, they usually fail to produce a similar taste to that of traditional brewers.

The K-Supreme truly understands and solves this issue with its new engineering.

If you’re a coffee purist and still don’t have enough time to deal with the nuts and bolts of traditional coffee makers, the Keurig K-Supreme can be a life-saver.

But remember that you may need to spend pretty dollars to get this fabulous package. So, simply skip this if you want something more economical.

Before buying any K-Cup coffee maker, consider the following factors to see whether it matches your personal needs.

  • Your coffee taste.
  • Tank capacity.
  • Device dimensions.
  • Removable parts for easy cleaning.
  • Strength control.
  • Added features such as an iced button.
  • K-Cup and Universal K-Cup compatibility.
  • Water filter compatibility.
  • User interface.
  • Color options.
  • Noise.
  • Serving options.

Why You Should Consider the K-Supreme and K-Supreme Plus

The K-Supreme and K-Supreme Plus have a few advantages in common. Read on to know how they’ve received customer praise like this and turned into my first choice K-Cup brewer.

Ultimate Flavor

The first reason to buy the K-Supreme versions is their delicious, genuine taste of the coffee. And the thing that makes the Keurig K-Supreme taste better than its older models is a new feature called Multistream Technology.

As the name may imply, this technology brews your K-Cup using multiple streams of water rather than one. When you open the brewer top, you’ll see five sharp needles all around the head, unlike the older models where there’s only one needle in the center.

These evenly distributed needles punch your K-Cup in five different points, increasing water contact with your coffee grinds and extracting a richer flavor out of your K-Cup content.

Without exaggerating, this fantastic technology makes the Keurig K-Supreme better-tasting than any other K-Cup brewer of any brand, any price, anywhere.

Reservoir

Another selling point of this Keurig device is its large, removable, dual-position reservoir.

For one thing, it holds about 66 ounces of water, allowing you to brew 9 cups of coffee before you have to refill it. Even if you use a water filter, this capacity won’t change significantly. A charcoal filter and handle offset the water by only 1 or 2 ounces.

Second, the reservoir has an adjustable stand that allows you to reposition the reservoir to either the left or the unit’s backside. This way, you can snuggle the device in almost any corner.

The water reservoir is removable, so you can bring it to the water tap, fill it, and put it back with no hassle.

Finally, it has a fixed handle on the side, which makes your filling process even easier. A handle means no fingerprints on the tank surface and less wiping effort.

Here’s a video on how to reposition your K-Supreme reservoir.

Design

On the visual front, the Keurig K-Supreme resembles the slim shape of the Keurig K-Mini and K-Slim models. At about 8 inches wide, 13 inches deep, and only 12 inches high, this machine has a space-saving design and can get inside most kitchens.

Even when you open the lever, it extends to a maximum of 17 inches tall, which isn’t an issue as long as you have standard counter height.

Of course, when you move the reservoir to the back or side, the machine will change in width or depth. It’ll be two inches narrower and two inches deeper when the reservoir is in the rear position. Similarly, it becomes two inches wider and two inches shorter when it’s in the side position.

Another exciting part of K-Supreme’s new design is its super-sturdy brew handle. While many users had complained about the wobbly K-cup holders in older brewers, it seems like Keurig has solved the issue in this device.

Finally, the K-Supreme comes in gray and black.

Brewing Time

Since it has no warm-up period, this Keurig promises to give you a quick cup of coffee. It brews in less than two minutes, and once you have your first cup of coffee, you can immediately brew your next one.

This is a massive advantage for large households or those who host a friend or two every so often.

Strong Brew Option

By default, the K-Supreme delivers a more robust, flavorful cup of coffee compared to other Keurig units. It also boasts an additional option to make saturated coffee, and it does that by reducing the speed of the water flow. Slower brewing means longer water and coffee contact time, and therefore, more extraction.

Cup Size Variability

The Keurig K-Supreme brews at four different servings, ranging from 6 to 12 ounces. Also, it’s very accurate. It means when you press the 10-ounce button, it exactly brews 10 ounces of coffee, no more and no less.

Also, the machine can accommodate up to 7.2-inch cups so you can directly brew into your travel mug. Of course, this is only possible if you take out the drip tray. Otherwise, the space between the tray and brewing head shrinks to 6.2 inches.

K-Cup Compatibility

Like other Keurig single-serve brewers, the K-Supreme can accept all types, flavors, and brands of K-Cup pods. This functionality makes it even valuable for non-coffee drinkers.

There are dozens of hot cocoa, apple cider, chai latte, and herbal tea K-Cups available on the market. The K-Supreme doesn’t mind if it’s actual coffee or other kinds of hot drinks; it’ll flush the water straight down your K-Cup and scrub out its content.

This makes the machine even compatible with reusable coffee filters. You can simply make your own mix of ground coffee and pour it into a universal K-Cup.

Iced Coffee Setting

Keurig K-Supreme owners can go beyond K-Cup flavors and make a tasty cup of iced coffee

This machine has a brew over ice technology that extracts about 6 ounces of coffee from your favorite K-Cup. However, you can’t switch between servings when using this option.

This is partly because you usually half-fill your glass with huge ice cubes when making an iced-coffee. So, more than 6 ounces of fluid may cause overspilling and create a mess on your countertop. Besides, some of your ice cubes are going to melt down in this process, so with a denser brew, your coffee won’t taste watery.

For the same reason, brewing over ice takes a few seconds longer than normal brewing.

Quiet Operation

Most Keurig units boast a Quiet Brew Technology, which makes them hardly audible while running. This new product, though, has notched this up a level.

While other Keurigs sound like a feeble pump, the K-Supreme is whisper quiet.

Simple Control

For your maximum convenience, the K-Supreme has the minimum number of buttons. All the controls are placed on a small circular spot on top of the device so that you can easily access them.

Besides, each button has a self-evident label on it. So, working with the Strong option, Iced setting, and other features isn’t rocket science.

The two indicator lamps on the control panel will facilitate your experience even further. One of them will start illuminating when your tank’s drained, and the other one will flash to remind you to descale the reservoir.

Maintenance

Maintaining the K-Supreme is the same as that of other Keurig coffee makers. You should wipe down the outer covering with a soft damp cloth, wash the removable parts with soap and water, and descale your reservoir every two to six months.

Here’s how to descale your Keurig K-Supreme:

What’s the Difference Between K-Supreme and K-Supreme Plus?

From overall design to MultiStream Technology and Strong Button, the K-Supreme and its Plus alternative have a lot in common. However, they’re different in a few aspects.

Read on to learn about their differences so that you can buy the version that suits you best.

More Customization

The Plus version of the K-Supreme offers more control over the strength button. It comes with a digital screen that displays three density levels for your coffee. Each time you press the Strong button, it goes one level higher, making a stronger drink.

Similarly, it has three temperature settings for your coffee, ranging between 165 to 172 degrees. So, You’ll have no more complaints about your coffee being too hot or too cold.

If you’re in a hurry and want to gulp your coffee quickly, the first temperature level would help, and if you prefer piping-hot coffee, the second temperature level is all you need. There’s a minor difference between the second and the third temperatures – barely two and a half degrees. So, you may not need it very often.

What takes your customized experience to the next level is the ability to save your favorite settings. Whether you enjoy a 6-ounce, very hot coffee with low density or a 12-ounce strong coffee with cold temperature, you can easily save these preferences.

Fortunately, the K-Supreme Plus has three different buttons for preset settings. You can use these options for three individuals in your household or a single person with three different preferences.

Larger Reservoir

Despite their almost identical dimensions, the K-Supreme Plus boasts a larger reservoir than its regular version. More specifically, it holds 12 ounces more water – enough for one or two more coffee cups.

A weird but real shortcoming is that Keurig has excluded the repositionable tank from this newer upgrade! The water tank is fixed in the side position.

Serving Options

The K-Supreme Plus gives you an extra four-ounce serving option.

Design and Material

Instead of plastic, the Supreme Plus has stainless steel housing. This metal wrap extends its longevity, reduces your wiping efforts, and adds more visual appeal to your machine.

This version is only available in the beautiful silver color.

Price

The K-Supreme Plus is a little more expensive than the regular K-Supreme, but it’s nothing substantial. Given the Plus version’s added features, it’s reasonable for Keurig to charge its customers a few extra dollars.

Final Thoughts on Our Keurig K-Supreme and K-Supreme Plus Review

While traditional coffee makers are time-consuming and hard to use, K-Cup brewers fall short in terms of taste. Some of them are very bulky, and others fail to customize your brew choices.

Keurig K-Supreme, on the other hand, is a jack of all trades. It blends the convenience of K-Cup coffee makers with the great taste of high-end brewers. A newer upgrade, the K-Supreme Plus also delivers cutting-edge technologies to create more flexible options.
