In this article, we’re going to compare two of Keurig’s best-selling coffee brewers: the K475 vs K575. These blenders have quite a lot of things in common, which makes it hard to decide between them.

These similarities include the fact that they’re both single-serve coffee makers, have color touch screens, and are programmable.

That being said, there are enough key differences to set these blenders apart and make them more or less suited to different types of households.

Keurig K475 vs K575 Coffee Maker Comparison

The Pros and Cons: Keurig K575 vs K475

Here’s a brief summary of what each coffee maker offers and lacks.

Keurig K475 Review

In our opinion, the K475 is one of the best coffee makers in its price range.  First of all, it’s equipped with a 70-ounce water reservoir. That means you can get through a day’s worth of coffee without having to refill even once!

Secondly, the K475’s color touch screen is extremely user-friendly. Even first-time owners will be able to figure out the controls without any trouble. Plus you can program the machine to automatically start and stop brewing at desired times.

Another thing we absolutely love about the K475 is its removable drip tray. By taking it out, you’ll be able to fit in extra-large mugs that you use and clean coffee spills better.

The Keurig K475 isn’t just good at making espresso or lattes. It can also handle hot chocolate, tea and a host of cold beverages as well. So for $137, we think it’s quite a steal!

The Pros

  • Drip tray is removable
  • Large colour touchscreen
  • Auto On/Off
  • Brews a cup of coffee in less than 60 seconds
  • Can dispense hot water
  • Has strength control

The Cons

  • Smaller Reservoir then the K575
  • Noise output is quite high
  • Carafe isn’t included
  • Lacking a ‘Hot Water on Demand’ feature

Keurig K575 Coffee Maker Review

The K575 is pretty much an improved version of the K475, offering everything the latter does and more. First of all, it has a larger water reservoir (80 ounces), which is great if you’ve got a house filled with espresso or cappuccino addicts.

It’s got a bigger touchscreen as well, which makes it easier to read the controls and prompts. Plus, if you’ve got ‘big ol’ sausage fingers’, this should make your experience slightly better.

The K575 coffee maker also has a nightlight, which is ideal for those late night espresso cravings. Last but not least, it’s got the ‘Hot Water on Demand’ feature as well. This feature dispenses hot water in a variety of different sizes.

The Pros

  • Larger, more customizable touchscreen than the K475
  • Water reservoir has a higher capacity
  • ‘Hot Water on Demand’ feature
  • Comes with a nightlight
  • Can brew a cup of coffee just as fast
  • Has strength control
  • Has Auto On/Off
  • Drip tray is removable
  • Uses energy more efficiently

The Cons

  • Slightly more expensive

The Differences: Keurig 475 vs 575

Here’s a closer look at the differences between the K475 and K575.

Features

Both Keurig models come with a ton of features that’ll make any coffee drinker happy. However, the Keurig K575 coffee maker has a bit more to offer. With a bigger water reservoir, slightly larger touchscreen and the ‘Hot Water on Demand’ feature, the K575 is definitely a small step up from the K475.

However, saying that the K575 ‘trumps’ the K475 would be a bit of a stretch. They’re still very similar in terms of features.

Design

The Keurig K475 and the K575 look identical except for a few minor differences.

Both brewers have a very contemporary aesthetic and will seem right at home inside any modern kitchen. Unfortunately, the K575 lacks colour options. It’s only available in platinum while you can also buy the K475 in silver, black and red.

The K575’s touch screen is about half an inch bigger than the K475’s. This makes it harder to accidentally press the wrong button. You can also program the K575’s touchscreen to display a different colour. So you can pick a shade that is healthier for your eyes or more energy efficient.

When it comes to size and weight, there’s no difference at all between the K575 and K475.

Performance

Both the Keurig K475 and the K575 excel at brewing a delicious cup of coffee. Plus they do it fast and efficiently!

However, the K575 seems to have a slight edge over its rival, thanks to the exclusive features it has:

For instance, the larger reservoir means more cups of coffee. If you hate filling up the tank, then the K575 is right up your alley. Additionally, the ‘Hot Water on Demand’ is great when you just need some hot water to dip in a tea bag.

Ease of Installation

The installation process is identical for both coffee brewers and very easy. Even if you’ve never owned any sort of brewer before, the instructions on the manual make set up a breeze. You’ll be done in a matter of minutes!

Here are the basic steps you’ll have to follow when installing either one:

  1. Unbox and assemble the Keurig coffee maker
  2. Turn on the machine
  3. Pour water into the reservoir
  4. Allow the water to flow to the Keurig coffee maker  coffee maker by lifting the handle
  5. Insert a compatible K-cup pod
  6. Position your mug in the alcove
  7. Press ‘brew’

The touchscreens on both the Keurig K475 and the K575 are quite user-friendly. You should have no trouble adjusting brewer settings.

Price

Unfortunately, both the Keurig K475 and the K575 are discontinued, meaning that you probably won’t be able to buy them brand new. Hence, your only option would be to buy them used or renewed/refurbished.

Typically, the Keurig K575 costs slightly higher than the 475. This isn’t that surprising given the extra features such as ‘Hot Water on Demand’. The exact second-hand prices vary from seller to seller.

On Amazon, you could get a renewed Keurig K475 for $137. A 575 in the same condition should cost you a bit more.

Customer Support From Keurig

Sometimes when you buy brewers you may have to deal with things like returns and repairs. Fortunately, Keurig provides excellent customer support so things like this won’t be much of a hassle.

What Customers Are Saying About Keurig K475 And K575

Our Verdict: Keurig K475 vs K575

Both the Keurig K475 vs K575 are flexible, feature-packed and powerful brewers. You have the ability to make coffee in less than one minute and have control of brewing strength and temperature. That’s certainly enough to delight the average coffee addict.

However, if we had to choose a winner, we’d pick the Keurig K475. While the K575 does come with more features, we find that it doesn’t make enough of a difference to warrant a higher price.

The bottom line is that the 475 performs just as well as the K575.

Final Thoughts: Which Coffee Brewer Is For You?

Even though we picked the K475 as the winner, we’d definitely recommend the 575 over it to certain people. This includes:

  • People who want their brewing process to be a bit easier
  • People who like having more customizability with their machines
  • People who make more cups of coffee and therefore could use a water reservoir with a bit more capacity
  • People who love the idea of getting hot water on demand.

However, if you don’t want to spend extra for a few additional features or you want more colour options, then go with the K475.
