It’s review time again. Jura’s one of the latest espresso machine is the Jura Impressa A9. This model is the link between the F range and the ENA range. It has all the impressive features from the previous Jura coffee machines. Probably the most noticeable option is the “one-touch cappuccino”. It also has the required size, appropriate for office use. Just like in previous espresso machines, such as F50, F7 and F8.

It is really exciting to introduce this gorgeous automatic espresso machine. We mentioned above that it has a one-touch option. Many people aren’t familiar with this term. What this means is that the Jura Impressa A9 espresso machine has an automatic option that with a single touch of a button will make a milk-based drink without even moving the cup. So, if you’re a cappuccino or a latte macchiato lover, you’ll love this feature!

The Jura A9 Touch Screen Display Selection and Design

The Jura Impressa A9 uses a touchscreen display for drink selection, instead of the traditional button selection. It is kind of smart coffee machine, well it’s not necessarily voice-command, but it surely is the next best thing. The way it works is, you choose your desired drink by pressing the picture of it. The pictures can come in very handy whether you’re entertaining in business settings or at home.

It is probably safe to say that the Jura A9 is the perfect espresso machine for the conference room. Drink names can cause confusion at times, however, the picture selection option is very user-friendly. Even the biggest coffee newbie will have no problem choosing.

When it comes to the design, this model fits right in the business environment, with its modern and sleek design. With its classic piano black color on the front panel, it’s a perfect fit for upscale homes or boardrooms. Aside from selecting drinks, the touchscreen provides the user with important information and control.

It lets the user know when it’s time to add water or beans, or when to empty the drip tray. Furthermore, it provides access to power saving mode, maintenance items and different cleaning cycles.

Brewing with the A9 Impressa and usage

Back to basics. It is important to mention that the Jura A9 coffee machine is a bean to cup machine. What this means that the coffee beans are ground fresh each time, right before brewing. Whether you want an espresso or a regular coffee, that part of the process is the same. This is achieved, using the revolutionary and amazing aroma + grinder process, which uses conical burrs designed to grind fast.

The grinder on this model is adjustable, matching the roast level, bean type and the beverage being made. The typical setting is coarser for long coffees and finer for espressos. On the top, you’ll find a doser used for pre-ground coffee. This can come in handy if you have guests who like decaf coffee.

You can also change the strength of the coffee by using the touchscreen, even after you’ve selected the coffee or during grinding. The machine will save the used setting for the next time you choose the same coffee. Furthermore, you can change the amount brewed, during preparation, using the simple arrows on the display.

However, this will not save the change for the next use. To permanently do that, you need to press and hold your desired drink for around 3 seconds, right until “Enough Coffee?” appears.
Once you are at your desired amount, press “Save”. This way it’ll save the settings for every next use (until you change it again of course). I’m getting carried away, so I’m going back to the Jura A9 automatic espresso machine review. You can easily get hot water too from the machine.

Maintenance

After the coffee brewing process is done, the used grounds are released into an internal box, which is found on top of a big drip tray. The capacity of that box is around 10 brewing cycles. This model also consists of a 37-ounce water tank, with a capacity of around 15 espressos. If you plan to use the Jura Impressa A9 espresso machine frequently, for example, a boardroom, where it will be used hourly. It is recommended that the machine is put next to a water source, to ensure easy refilling.

As far as maintenance goes, the Jura Impressa A9 espresso machine is easy to maintain. If you use the water filter then there will be no need for descaling. This model almost does the cleaning for itself. Automatically it performs rinsing of milk circuits and coffee. However, if you want to get the most out of it, it is recommended that you hand clean its internal components from milk after you use it.

Jura A9 verdict – Is it the best bang for your buck?

The Jura Impressa A9 is a great machine for office use. With its low maintenance and easy selection system. However make sure you place it close to a water source, for easy refills.
