Today, we’re going to show you some fast and easy coffee drinks to make at home during COVID-19 lockdown. So, coffee lovers, here we go!

Easy coffee drinks to make at home during COVID-19 lockdown

Affogato al Caffè (Vanilla ice cream and coffee)

Ingredients (one serving)

  • 1 shot of hot Espresso
  • 1 – 2 scoops of Vanilla ice cream

How to make

Step 1: Place one to two scoops of ice cream in the glass.

Step 2: Slowly pour the coffee onto the ice cream and the drink is ready to be served.

Espresso must not be an unfamiliar coffee beverage name for you even if you’re not a big fan of coffee. However, what about combining Espresso with Vanilla ice cream? Have you ever tried this interesting combination? Trust us, the deep, traditional bitterness from Espresso blends with the sweetness of standard Vanilla ice cream will create an outbursting flavor that can dance in your mouth!

You can use instant Espresso coffee but if it’s possible, we recommend freshly ground one for the richest coffee taste. If you are looking for a hand crank grinder to make your own freshly ground coffee, check out this list!

In case you’re into coffee more and want to keep Espresso traditional as much as possible, just take a scoop of ice cream, otherwise, if you love sweet things, nothing is better than taking two or even three scoops to treat your Affogato al caffè!

Dalgona Coffee (Whipped Coffee)

Ingredients ( one to two servings)

  • 2 tablespoons of instant coffee (any brands, dark coffee is prefered)
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar (can be adjusted by preference)
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • A glass of milk (your choice)
  • Ice (optional)

How to make

Step 1: Put all the coffee, sugar and water into a bowl and whip them well at a high speed. It’s okay to whip the mixture by hand but be prepared that it will take you about 8 to 10 minutes (based on your arm’s strength) and more effort than by using a hand mixer, an eggbeater or a stand mixer.  However, if you want to take some arm exercises at the same time, this is not a bad idea!

Step 2: Whip the mixture until it turns into foam completely.

Step 3: Taste it and add more sugar if you want. Of course, the coffee sense and bitterness will be strong because it is dark coffee, but don’t worry, it will perfectly fit and blend into the milk afterward.

Step 4: If you want to try cold Dalgona Coffee, add a few ice cubes to the milk glass. Then, spoon the whipped coffee, put it on the top, and finish.

Dalgona Coffee or Whipped Coffee is a recent hot trend on social media. Originated from Korea, this kind of coffee drink has a gentle, smooth and delight flavor as well as appearance that can make every woman, or even man fall in love with it at the first sip.

There are two ways to taste this unique drink. The first way is for those who’re into milk more than coffee. You can taste both the whipped coffee as well as the under milk at the same time by blending it together. It’s kinda like coffee-flavored milk. Still, if you want to have more coffee savor, taste one spoon of the top coffee first and a sip of milk next.

There is not any exact amount of the coffee foam required for the topping, so just feel free to decor and create your own Dalgona as you wish.

Mocha Frappuccino

Ingredients (one serving)

  • 1 ½ cups of crushed ice
  • 1-2 ounce shots of Espresso (depending on how bitter or which level of coffee flavor that you desire)
  • ¾ cup of milk (your choice)
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar (can be adjusted by preference)
  • Optional extras: whipped cream (can or freshly made); chocolate syrup

How to make

Step 1: Put all ingredients, except the optional extras into the blender.

Step 2: Blend the mixture from 30 to 45 seconds or until the ice is crushed well and evenly.

Step 3: Pour it into a glass jar or tall glass. Fill the top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup for the best rich, creamy flavor.

If you have been falling into the famous classic drink of Starbucks, Mocha Frappuccino for a long time, this recipe is specifically made for you! With this super easy method, you now can copycat the original drink from Starbuck, save your money and enjoy it at home.

The Mocha Frappuccino is a kind of ice-blended coffee, so if the taste of coffee in Affogato al Caffè is too bitter for you, but the Dalgona’s is too light, then this drink is worth giving a shot. It’s a perfect combination between milk and coffee as the reasonable amount of milk will neutralize the bitterness of Espresso.

An ice-blended drink will be fulfilled when it’s served with fresh cream. So, don’t forget to top off your homemade Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream and chocolate syrup for the superior flavor. However, in case that you’re not in the mood for some creamy thing, it’s still great to enjoy the Frappe alone.
